Innovative ensemble Vulfpeck announced details of eight performances in California spanning September 18 – 24. The band will record their next album live in front of the audience during the run of shows in Berkeley and Los Angeles.

Vulfpeck — Jack Stratton, Theo Katzman, Joe Dart, Woody Goss, Cory Wong, Joey Dosik and Antwaun Stanley — will kick off the headlining swing in which they’ll record the follow-up to 2022’s Schvitz at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley on September 18, 19 and 20. The group will play both early and late shows each night. From there, Vulf heads to Los Angeles to complete the run on September 23 and 24 with a two-night stand at the Hollywood Palladium.

The method of recording an album live was utilized by Vulfpeck offshoot The Fearless Flyers to create their recently released The Fearless Flyers IV EP. Stratton and Wong co-produced the six-song effort, which was recorded during the quartet’s December 2023 residency at famed New York City jazz club The Blue Note.

Tickets for Vulfpeck’s upcoming headline shows in California go on sale this Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. PT. Links to purchase are laid out below:

Vulfpeck will make their new album after beginning the trip to California with an appearance at the Whale Rock Music & Arts Festival on September 15. The group kicks off their 2024 touring schedule on April 4 and 5 in Austin before a set at the inaugural Texas Eclipse Festival.
