Some “final concerts” have lived up to the hype surrounding them, while others haven’t. One in particular that did was LCD Soundsystem’s finale performance, which took place at NYC’s Madison Square Garden on April 2, 2011. The group’s front man, James Murphy, has mixed and produced a new vinyl box set that will include every note the band played at their finale.

The Long Goodbye: LCD Soundsystem Live At Madison Square Garden spans 5-LPs and will be released on April 19 -aka Record Store Day. A digital version is expected to follow on May 20. In 2012 the band shared the Shut Up & Play The Hits documentary, which gave a taste of the final LCD Soundsystem concert. Now, we’ll get to hear the whole show mixed specifically to be heard.
