Video: John Prine Covers Johnny Cash’s ‘The Ways Of A Woman In Love’

Singer-songwriter John Prine is among the contributors to Amazon Music’s original playlist #LoveMe. The 71-year-old covered a classic song by the late great Johnny Cash as part of the 50-track collection.

Prine’s contribution to the #LoveMe playlist comes alongside recordings made by Dan Auerbach, Amanda Shires, Hurray For The Riff Raff, Eric Krasno Band and others. Written by Charlie Rich and Bill Justis, Johnny Cash recorded “The Ways Of A Woman In Love” for his 1958 album Johnny Cash Sings the Songs That Made Him Famous and Prine offered his arrangement for Amazon Music.

On April 13, Prine will issue The Tree of Forgiveness — his Dave Cobb-produced, first new album of original material in 13 years. It features guest contributions from Auerbach, Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires.
