Video: Gov’t Mule Welcomes Jackson Browne For ‘Melissa’ In Australia

By Scott Bernstein Apr 10, 2018 2:15 pm PDT

As reported, Gov’t Mule recently concluded a brief tour of Australia with a guest-filled performance at the Byron Bay Bluesfest on March 30. One of the highlights of the group’s second of two sets at the festival was a sit-in from legendary singer-songwriter Jackson Browne. High-quality video of the guest spot has surfaced and can be viewed below.

Jackson Browne emerged towards the end of Gov’t Mule’s performance along with keyboardist Jeff Young. Browne and Young added to a gorgeous rendition of the Allman Brothers Band classic “Melissa.” In 2017, Jackson played a number of stops of the Laid Back Festival in the wake of Gregg Allman’s passing. “Melissa” was a high point of Browne’s sets.
