Vampire Weekend Previews New Music

Vampire Weekend previewed new music with a two-hour long track entitled “120 Minutes Of Harmony Hall Guitars.” The band will issue a pair of new singles – “Harmony Hall” and “2021” – this Thursday, January 24.

Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig previously revealed the band’s plans to release an 18-track double album. Referred to as FOTB, two tracks from the record will be issued each month through March, starting with the above-mentioned tracks coming out Thursday.

As Pitchfork notes, the visual imagery paired with “120 Minutes of Harmony Hall Guitars” is titled “The Sacred Tree Of The Sephiroth,” which is similarly structured to the Jewish Kabbalah “Tree Of Life” diagram. “120 Minutes Of Harmony Hall Guitars” is mostly made up of looping guitars, but some vocals appear at 20:21, and are added again at 59:55. A voice says “I think I took myself too serious. It’s not that serious” at 1:33:53. Listen below:
