Vampire Weekend shared a pair of new singles, “Harmony Hall” and “2021.” The songs appear on the band’s upcoming album entitled Father Of The Bride.
Vampire Weekend previously previewed their first new music in six years via a two-hour long track sampling “Harmony Hall.” Frontman Ezra Koenig last week wrote on Instagram that the album’s title contained the initials “FOTB” and that two songs would be released at a time each month for three months leading up to the record’s release. It appears from Koenig’s message that February will see the release of tracks titled with the initials “S” and “B.B.,” while March will see songs with titles containing the initials “T.L.” and “U.W.”
Koenig revealed details about Father Of The Bride in an interview with Beats 1. Former Vampire Weekend member Rostam helped produce “Harmony Hall” and another track on the album as well. “Harmony Hall” also features guitarist Greg Leisz, who contributed to other songs as well. Koenig revealed additional “Harmony Hall” contributors include Dirty Projectors’ guitarist Dave Longstreth and HAIM’s Danielle Haim.

Koenig confirmed to NPR that Jenny Lewis added vocals to “2021,” which also includes a sample of 1980s music played in Japanese Muji retail stores written by renowned Japanese musician Haruomi Hosono. Due in the spring, Father Of The Bride is expected to come with a total of 18 tracks, though Koenig previously warned, “plans can change.” Stream “Harmony Hall” and “2021” below:
