Valerie June tapped legendary vocalist Mavis Staples to record an acoustic version of June’s song “Why The Bright Stars Glow.” The track originally appeared on June’s recently released studio album, The Moon And Stars: Prescriptions For Dreamers.

“I celebrate bringing the theme of The Moon And Stars full circle with this powerful collaboration” June stated. “Our planetary luminescent oracle, Mavis Staples, reminds us that every soul matters and every life has a gift that can uplift the planet. We see through this song that dreams really do come true if we are willing to put in the energy and patiently wait.”
