This year’s quarters will have the same themes and running order as last year’s quarters. The first set will be a “Raw Stewage” quarter in which the band weaves together the top vote-getters from a list of past “Jimmy Stewart” passages distributed to attendees before the show. The second quarter will be of the “All Request” variety as fans will pick from a number of options laid out on a ballot. Q3 will feature a “Stew Art Event” containing a full set of improvisation based exclusively on themes, ideas, scenes and concepts presented by fans. For the final quarter, fans will help guide the action for a “Choose Your Own Adventure” set.
Today, ballots were sent to fans listing the “Raw Stewage” and “All Request” options. The “All Request” selections include such crazy options as Foo Fighters’s “Rope,” letting the band choose a New Deal or Modest Mouse cover, “Spires” with the vocal ending found on the studio version, a solo Brendan Bayliss song (“You & You Alone”), the original “#5” with improv, Paul Simon’s “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover,” a new original off the soon-to-be-released Similar Skin LP and a six-man drum jam. All of the “Raw Stewage” choices can be sampled below:
