Umphrey’s McGee issued a new single entitled “I Don’t Know What I Want” today. The release of the song marks the band’s first full-band, non-instrumental studio track since 2020’s “Suxity.”
“I Don’t Know What I Want,” which has yet to be performed live, was penned by UM guitarist Brendan Bayliss. The Police-esque rocker was primarily recorded at Jake Cinninger‘s Boondock Studio facility in Niles, Michigan. Overdubs were added at Studio 3024 and Big Room Studio in Chicago as well as Shifting Sands in New Buffalo, Michigan and Nashville’s The Attic and Rocktopus’s Garden.
