Umphrey’s McGee Gets A Shout Out On ESPN’s Around The Horn

Umphrey’s McGee and ESPN’s Around The Horn have a long-standing relationship thanks to the fact that host Tony Reali is huge fan of the Chicago-based band. The prog-jam rockers even recorded a new theme song for the sports round-table/faux game show back in 2014 that’s been in use ever since.

Reali has shouted out to the band on-air on multiple occasions over the years and even sat in with them on percussion for a cover of Derek & The Domino’s “Layla” at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD back in February of 2014. Last week Reali once again showed off his Umph love as “The Silent Type” from the band’s upcoming release it’s not us was used as outro music. Reali even joked the track should be called “The Muted,” a reference to the mute button that he uses throughout the show.
