Umphrey’s McGee Busts Out The Girl Is Mine & Regulate

Chicago rockers Umphrey’s McGee’s never-ending tour continued last night at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheatre in Alabama, where they spread material from throughout their career over two sets and an encore and even threw in two rare covers for good measure.

One of the evening’s biggest surprises came in the second set after a “JaJunk” > “Hangover” > “JaJunk” sequence, when Umphrey’s busted out their cover of the Michael Jackson/Paul McCartney ’80s classic “The Girl Is Mine.” Last night’s take on “The Girl Is Mine” was just the 36th since 2001 and just the third since 2008. As with all UM versions of “The Girl Is Mine,” Thursday night’s rendition included a bit of “Jane Says” by Jane’s Addiction. The evening came to a close with another cover bust out, Warren G and Nate Dogg’s “Regulate,” which had been on the shelf since March 8 -a span of 61 shows.

Taper Nathan Leslie posted his recording of last night’s show on Archive.org. Take a listen to “The Girl Is Mine” > “Jane Says” > “The Girl Is Mine”, “Regulate” and the rest of the show:

Here’s a look at the setlist from last night’s show:
