Umphrey’s McGee Shares ‘13 Days’ Episode Of ‘Anchor Drops Redux’ Documentary Series

Umphrey’s McGee unveiled the latest installment of Anchor Drops Redux, a documentary video series detailing each song of the band’s 2004 studio album, Anchor Drops. Episode Eight tells the tale of “13 Days,” a tune about the group’s decision to go without alcohol for two weeks on the road.

Members of the sextet recall a show they played in which The Disco Biscuits guitarist Jon Gutwillig brought his own beer to the gig. UM returned the favor by bringing a keg to the Biscuits’ Camp Bisco 3 festival. “We were doing keg stands … shotgunning beers … it was like a Notre Dame football game at 8 a.m.,” said UM guitarist Brendan Bayliss. Eventually, the members of Umphrey’s started throwing the keg at each other.
