Tyler Ballgame made his late-night television debut on Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. The New Englander performed “Matter Of Taste” from his recently released debut album, For The First Time, Again, on the ABC program.
Recorded with co-producers Jonathan Rado and Ryan Pollie, For The First Time, Again arrived on Rough Trade on January 30. Ballgame enlisted the rhythm section of drummer Amy Aileen Wood and bassist Wayne Whitaker to back him on the 12-song set.
Tyler Ballgame was accompanied by his full band for his “Matter Of Taste” performance. The group features Wood on drums, Whitaker on bass, keyboardist Max Woobs and guitarists Sam Small and Clay Fuller.
The singer belted out the song using what he describes as his trademark “Ballgame voice.” Orange trees lined the back of the stage in an homage to the For The First Time, Again cover art.
