Ty Segall detailed a benefit compilation album, L.A. Recovers, featuring Redd Kross, King Tuff and more. The record will benefit One Voice LA – Fire Relief Fund and California Black Freedom Fund – Black LA Relief & Recovery Fund.
Each artist on L.A. Recovers performs a song from another artist on the LP, with “names drawn out of a hat to determine which artist covered which other artist,” as per a press release. Along with Segall, Redd Kross and King Tuff, the record also features contributions from White Fence, No Age, Charles Moothart, Jack Name, Emmett Kelly, and more.

“The idea of doing a comp turned into friends covering each other and we thought that would be a perfect thing to do for some L.A. fire relief charity fundraising,” Segall stated. “One thing was important – that everyone involved needed to have spent creative time living in L.A. It’s been very fun for everyone involved to cover each other’s music!”
L.A. Recovers is available exclusively on vinyl via Ty and Denée Segall’s Classic Master Sound Recordings. Pre-order L.A. Recovers.
Segall has a couple May engagements on the books ahead of a summer run with Primus. Scroll down for Ty’s itinerary and ticket info.
