Two Members Of Tower Of Power Injured In Train Accident In Oakland

Two members of renowned Bay Area rock band Tower of Power were injured yesterday after being struck by an Amtrak train in Oakland. Drummer David Garibaldi and bassist Marc van Wageningen are currently being treated for injuries at a local hospital.

According to local news outlet KRON 4, Garibaldi and van Wageningen were walking near the corner of Clay Street and Embarcadero West in Jack London Square. Tower Of Power was supposed to perform last night at the nearby music venue Yoshi’s but the appearance was canceled following the accident.

Tower of Power PR spokesman Jeremy Westby issued the following statement:

In an unfortunate accident tonight, two members of the award-winning group Tower Of Power, drummer David Garibaldi and current bassist Marc Van Wageningen, were struck by a train in California. Both men are responsive and being treated at a local hospital in Oakland.

Tower Of Power band manager Tom Consolo added:

There will be an update on their conditions tomorrow [Friday] but for tonight please send your prayers.
