Steve Earle played a solo acoustic set supporting Turnpike Troubadours at their concert on Saturday at F&M Bank Amphitheater in Long Beach, California. The veteran singer-songwriter then joined the band during the evening’s encore for performances of two of his songs.
Earle also opened for Turnpike Troubadours at their show last week in San Diego. His solo set in Long Beach featured longtime live staples “Guitar Town,” “Copperhead Road,” “Transcendental Blues” and “City of Immigrants,” among others.
Turnpike Troubadours summoned Earle midway through a four-song encore that began with “Diamonds & Gasoline” and a cover of John Hartford’s “Long Hot Summer Days.” Earle then emerged and added mandolin and vocals to his originals “Dominick St.” and “The Galway Girl.”
