Turkuaz Performs ‘Big Business’ & ‘Murder Face’ In Burlington

During Turkuaz‘s expansive spring tour, the funk-infused nine-piece made a stop at Burlington, Vermont’s Higher Ground. Now, the technicolor band has released a pro-shot video of their performance from April 18, releasing video of the night’s takes on “Big Business” into “Murder Face.”

For the clip, the Brooklyn nonet begins with a cover of David Byrne’s “Big Business.” First released in 1981 on The Catherine Wheel, the popular cover takes a psychedelic slant with Sammi Garett assisting drummer Michelangelo Carubba on percussion. Featuring lush horns and dramatic vocals, by way of a drum solo, Turkuaz then transitions into “Murder Face,” an original off their 2015 release Digitonium led by Dave Brandwein and featuring an excellent solo from Craig Brodhead.
