Primus surprise released A Handful Of Nuggs, a new EP available now digitally, with a special-edition 12-inch vinyl release arriving July 22. The tracklist includes a cover of Dio‘s “Holy Diver,” sung by Puddles Pity Party, and “Little Lord Fentanyl” featuring Puscifer's Maynard James Keenan.
Leading the EP is the track, “The Ol’ Grizz,” which is among the first studio recordings to feature new drummer John Hoffman alongside bassist Les Claypool and guitarist Larry “Ler” LaLonde. The four-song set also features “Duchess (And The Proverbial Mind Spread),” recorded live at the Mann Music Center in Philadelphia.
Primus’ surprise release comes ahead of their upcoming tour with Claypool’s other projects, The Claypool Lennon Delirium with Sean Ono Lennon and Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade. The Claypool Gold Tour begins on May 20 in Reno and runs through July 4 in Napa, California.
