BUT THE MUSICAL IS UP FOR A FEW OUTER CIRCLE AWARDS
Despite closing after just its 56th showing earlier this month, “Hands On A Hardbody” has still picked up a “hand”ful of nominations for the Outer Critics Circle Awards. The Broadway show, which had music written by Amanda Green and Phish front man Trey Anastasio, is up for three awards.
Anastasio and Green’s music has been nominated in the Outstanding New Score category, cast member Keala Settle is up for the Outstanding Featured Actress In A Musical award and the show itself is in the running for the Outstanding New Broadway Musical prize.
Outer Critics Circle is the official organization of writers on the New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications, and other media beyond Broadway. The awards will be revealed on May 13th followed by a formal ceremony on May 23rd.
