Trey Anastasio Trio Adds ‘Sustain’ Benefit In Atlanta To End Of Tour

Guitarist Trey Anastasio, bassist Tony Markellis and drummer Russ Lawton will soon embark on their first tour as a trio since 1999. The Trey Anastasio Trio has just added one more show to run, a benefit concert entitled Sustain that will take place at Terminal West in Atlanta on April 29.

Sustain will be a performance in honor of Chris “C Cott” Cottrell. Chris was a lifelong friend of Anastasio’s who succumbed to adrenal cancer on January 27. Anastasio was at Cottrell’s bedside during his final days and wrote an acoustic composition titled “Till We Meet Again” that the Phish guitarist unveiled during his recent solo acoustic tour. All proceeds from Sustain will benefit the WaterWheel Cancer Fund. The upcoming tour was announced as a Trey Anastasio Band run and was turned into a Trey Anastasio Trio tour after Ray Paczkowski underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor.
