Earlier this week, guitarist Trey Anastasio shared a note indicating longtime TAB keyboardist Ray Paczkowski had recently undergone surgery to remove a brain tumor. Today, Anastasio has issued a statement announcing he will proceed with a series of April dates backed by drummer Russ Lawton and bassist Tony Markellis.

The “Trey Anastasio Trio” begins the spring tour at the House Of Blues in Cleveland on April 17 and the threesome will be on the road through the end of the month. Included is a three-night stand at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans from April 26 – 28 and visits to Grand Rapids, Chicago and Birmingham.

Anastasio’s announcement mentions April 17th, 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the famed “8 Foot Florescent Tubes” show at Higher Ground in Winooski, Vermont. That night was the first time the guitarist shared the stage with Lawton and Markellis. “While Ray rests up, we have decided to use this upcoming short tour to celebrate this milestone and play the entire run as a trio for the first time since 1999. We will keep Ray in our hearts and minds as he recovers over the next few months and look forward to the full TAB lineup returning to the road soon,” reads a portion of the note posted on Trey.com.

Ticketholders who don’t want to attend the Trey Anastasio Trio shows can receive refunds through the original point or purchase. Paczkowski is expected to make a full recovery.
