Trey Anastasio Shares Ghosts Of The Forest ‘Shadows Thrown By Fire/Wider’ Video

Trey Anastasio brought the Northeast portion of April’s Ghosts Of The Forest tour to a close at the United Palace Theatre in New York City on April 13. Anastasio unveiled pro-shot video of Ghosts Of The Forest’s performances of “Shadows Thrown By Fire” and “Wider” on his YouTube channel.

The Phish frontman has been sharing video from the nine-show Ghosts Of The Forest run one song at a time. Since “Shadows Thrown By Fire” and “Wider” is one continuous piece of music, Anastasio posted one video featuring both tunes. Trey was backed by drummer Jon Fishman, bassist Tony Markellis, keyboardist Ray Paczkowski and vocalists Jennifer Hartswick and Celisse over the course of the tour. Ghosts Of The Forest played the same 21-song set in the same sequence at each concert.

Celisse and Jennifer Hartswick were showcased during “Shadows Thrown By Fire” > “Wider.” The vocalists went to separate sides of the stage and held boxes with glowing white lights for the former in which the pair sang melodies rather than any actual words. Hartswick and Celisse put the boxes down for “Wider” and surrounded Anastasio for the chorus and verses before they took their usual positions towards the back of the stage as the guitarist jammed with Fishman, Markellis and Paczkowksi.
