Composer & Trey Anastasio Collaborator Don Hart Appears On ‘Under The Scales’
Composer Don Hart, a longtime collaborator with Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio, is Tom Marshall’s special guest on Osiris Media’s, a partner of JamBase, Under The Scales podcast. Hart discussed working with Trey and with Phish on Episode 67 of Under The Scales.
Don Hart’s relationship with Anastasio dates back to 2004, when he was tapped by Trey to put together orchestration for “Stash.” The partnership has yielded many collaborations over the past 15+ years the most recent of which were charts Hart wrote for a handful of songs that appear on Sigma Oasis, an album Phish released in April.
Tom and Don compared and contrasted their experiences working with Trey. Hart also recalled reuniting with Anastasio following the guitarist’s hiatus from the stage due to Trey’s 2006 arrest for drug possession and subsequent time in Drug Court. Other topics hit upon were Hart’s other projects, how rock music translates to the orchestral setting, his experience working on Sigma Oasis and more.
