Trey Anastasio and Classic TAB brought their spring tour to Wonderland Forest in Lafayette, New York on Friday. The Phish guitarist continued to roll out new material and also broke out old school TAB favorite “Windora Bug.”
Trey Anastasio and Classic TAB — Russ Lawton, keyboardist Ray Paczkowski and bassist Dezron Douglas — kicked off their spring tour in Chicago on May 9 and included three new songs debuts in the show. Trey has steadily rolled out new tunes throughout the tour including “Long Long Time” (Saint Paul), “Mists of the Past” (Detroit) and “The Kid in the Sky” (Cleveland).

The Wonderland Forest concert got underway with a pair of tunes off Phish’s 2000 album, Farmhouse, “Sand” and “Back on the Train.” 3.0 Phish cuts “Stealing Time From the Faulty Plan and “Steam” followed before a return to Farmhouse with “Heavy Things,” which saw Anastasio on acoustic guitar.
Trey kept his acoustic for the debut of “It’s Happening Again.” The snappy Anastasio/Marshall composition featured some outstanding electric piano from Ray and Dezron harmonizing with Anastaio on the chorus. Watch below:
Next came “Windora Bug.” Trey unveiled the reggae number in TAB trio format with Lawton and bassist Tony Markelis during the May 4, 1999 solo/electric concert at the Murat Theatre in Indianapolis, as per Phish.net. He last performed “Windora Bug” on October 23, 2020 during the livestreamed Beacon Jams. Watch “Windora Bug” at Wonderland Forest:
The quartet then offered “I Never Left Home,” from Trey’s pandemic album Lonely Trip, which segued into Farmhouse’s “Gotta Jibboo” and Lonely Trip’s “I Never Needed You Like This Before” to end the first frame.
Set two got underway with another three-song seamless sequence of “Drifting” > “Oblivion” > “Ghost.” Three relatively new songs premiered with Trey Trio in Denver last June: “Outside The Lines,” “Broken Into Pieces” and “Pillow Jets,”
Next, the quartet trotted out another brand new song, “Liquidate the Moon,” which was also a reggae number. The song was held down with a dub beat from Lawton and laced with bubbly clavinet and organ stylings from Ray with Dezron joining Trey in harmony once again on the choruses. The band stretched the song out to nearly 13 minutes.
Anastaio and company bookend the set with another three-song segment: “Blaze On” > “A Wave of Hope” > “46 Days.” The encore consisted of Trey on acoustic for the countrified “Water in the Sky” followed by “Prince Caspian.”
The Wonderland Forest audio is available via LivePhish. Trey Anastaio and Classic TAB wrap their spring tour with a three night stand at Brooklyn Steel in New York City ahead of a slot at Boston Calling. Find info on those concerts as well as Anastasio’s upcoming orchestra shows below.
