After one year off, the Treasure Island Music Festival will return later this year. The event will be held at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park in Oakland October 13 and 14 after 10 installments on the island in the San Francisco Bay that gave the festival its name.

The festival needed to move its longtime home due to ongoing development and construction at the original site. Middle Harbor Shoreline Park is located west of Oakland in the Port District at the site of the former Oakland Naval Supply Deport. “The new location at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park will continue to offer festival-goers expansive views of the Bay, downtown San Francisco and The Bay Bridge,” reads a note on the event’s website. “Fans can expect much of the energy, format and attractions to remain the same when TIMF returns this October, with unforgettable music performances set against one of the most unique festival backdrops in the world with no overlapping sets.”

The 2016 festival featured Ice Cube, ZHU, Sigur Ros, Glass Animals, Young Thug and many others. Rainstorms and high winds led to a number of schedule changes and cancellations. Stay tuned for the 2018 lineup announcement.
