Top Memorial Day Weekend Music Festivals For 2022

Memorial Day Weekend in Central Illinois means tons of music going down at Summer Camp. Usual headliners moe. and Umphrey’s McGee will once again perform throughout the weekend. A few of the many other acts heading to Three Sisters Park include The Smashing Pumpkins, Little Feat, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, STS9, Liquid Stranger, Zeds Dead, Big Gigantic and NGHTMRE.

Bluegrass patriarch Del McCoury’s namesake Memorial Day Weekend event DelFest once again presents a lineup stacked with the finest bluegrass pickers and other talented genre-crossing musicians. In addition to several sets by The Del McCoury Band, taking the stage at the Allegany County Fairgrounds will be Railroad Earth, Béla Fleck, Tyler Childers, The Travelin’ McCourys, Sam Bush, Watchhouse, The California Honeydrops, Sierra Hull, Leftover Salmon, Jerry Douglas Band, The Lil Smokies, Steve Poltz and others.

Rooster Walk 12 brings over 50 artists to Pop’s Farm to perform across its six stages. Among those appearing over Memorial Day Weekend include Little Feat, Lettuce, BIG Something, The War and Treaty, Tab Benoit, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Sammy Rae & The Friends, Fruition, Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, Grace Potter, Moon Taxi and Ryan Montbleau.

The String Cheese Incident will perform at three of the four nights of this year’s Revival Festival. The annual Memorial Day Weekend event returns to Harmony Park with a lineup also including Leftover Salmon, The Infamous Stringdusters, The Motet, Big Something and Jon Stickley Trio, alongside several others.

Twiddle headlines the two-day Memorial Meltdown at Charles R. Wood Park. Joining the band on the first day’s lineup is Lucid, Marble Eyes, The Whiskey Dicks, Joe Cirotti and Twiddle keyboardist Ryan Dempsey. Day two features more Twiddle as well as Roots of Creation, Sophistafunk and Baked Shrimp.

Back for another vibration filled weekend, Bigfoot Electro brings together bass music fans nationwide. This year’s massive lineup is topped by Truth, Yeti, Mr. Bill and The Widdler. Held at the Bigfoot Adventure Campground, bring your discs to play the disc golf course and have a blast riding the zipline.

The Strawberry Music Festival five-day, family-friendly campout celebrates its 40th anniversary. As usual, the event provides a weekend of bluegrass, Americana and more. Among the performers heading to Nevada County Fairgrounds will be Sam Bush Band, Sierra Hull, David Bromberg, Allison Russell, Ron Artis II & The Truth, Steve Poltz, Steep Canyon Rangers, Watkins Family Hour and John Craigie.

BottleRock 2022 is back for another weekend of music, food, wine and brews at Napa Valley Expo. The music program for this year’s event is headlined by Metallica, P!nk and Twenty One Pilots. Additionally, The Black Crowes, Greta Van Fleet, Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Wailers, Spoon, Yola, Bleachers, CHVRCHES, Kikagaku Moyo and Greensky Bluegrass are more of the acts on the lineup.

Do LaB presents Lightning In A Bottle, an electronic music festival offering environmental and cultural workshops, art installations, yoga and movement classes and more. Performers appearing at this year’s event include Glass Animals, Kaytranada, GRiZ, Black Coffee, Four Tet, Big Wild and Chet Faker, alongside many others.

Grateful Dead tribute act Dark Star Orchestra hosts their annual Dark Star Jubilee at Legend Valley. Along with three DSO performances, the lineup includes Railroad Earth & Peter Rowan, Melvin Seals & JGB, Keller Williams’ Grateful Grass, Galactic, Yonder Mountain String Band, Holly Bowling, Donna The Buffalo, BoomBox and more.

A new multi-day Latin music festival Sueños makes its debut in Grant Park. The +18-event features over 15 reggaeton and Latin artists its lineup as the Windy City welcomes J Balvin, Ozuna, Wisin Y Yandel, Farruko, Myke Towers and El Alfa alongside several others.

One of the longest-running global dance music festivals, Movement Detroit brings 110+ artists to perform across six stages at Hart Plaza on the Detroit Riverfront. Those heading to the birthplace of techno include Flying Lotus, James Murphy, 2 Chainz, Jeff Mills, Adam Beyer, Carl Craig, Maya Jane Coles, Jon Hopkins, Gorgon City, Justin Martin, Maceo Plex, Richie Hawtin, Goldie, LTJ Bukem and Claude VonStroke, plus many others.

Music, art and activism come together at Waterfront Park for the 2022 Forecastle festival. Those topping the three-day event’s lineup include Tame Impala, Phoebe Bridgers, Jack Harlow, Porter Robinson, Rüfüs Du Sol and Tyler, the Creator.

Back for the first time since 2017, the So What?! Music Festival returns to Choctaw Stadium (formerly Globe Life Park). The Texas-sized lineup has nearly 300 acts spanning metal, rock, rap, hip-hop, alternative and pop-punk. Performers include I Prevail, Trippie Redd, 100 Gecs, The Ghost Inside, Rae Sremmurd, Sum 41, Underoath, 2 Chainz, Blackbear, Hatebreed, Simple Plan, Tyga, Big K.R.I.T., The Devil Wears Prada, We Came As Romans, Waka Flocka Flame, Princess Nokia, and scores of others.

Boston Calling takes over Harvard Athletic Complex for three days of music. This year is the festival’s biggest event yet, featuring performances by Nine Inch Nails, The Stokes, Metallica, Rüfüs Du Sol, Weezer, HAIM, Run The Jewels, Glass Animals, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Avril Lavigne, Black Pumas, Modest Mouse, Celisse, Goose and others. Come hungry because the Food Lineup features more than 30 local vendors.

Wilco’s Solid Sound returns to Mass MoCA for another three days of music and art. Wilco will play three times over the three-day event, with many of its members also playing sets. Among the others tapped to perform include Sylvan Esso, Iceage, Neko Case, Japanese Breakfast, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Hand Habits and Mike Watt + The Missingmen.

Wormtown Trading presents StrangeCreek Campout 2022, a weekend of music and camping at Camp Kee-Wanee. Headliners Max Creek are joined on this year’s lineup by Dumpstaphunk, Spafford, The Machine, Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime, TAUK, Prince/Bowie, Consider The Source, Bella’s Bartok, West End Blend and dozens of other acts.

The whole city will throw down at Roger Sherman Park for this year’s Greenwich Town Party. Music will be provided by the likes of Billy Joel, Old Crow Medicine Show, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Robert Randolph and Oz Noy, along with others.

Sterling Stage New Era Fest 2022 presents a variety of folk, roots and jam musicians. The boutique event will see two sets played by Dogs In A Pile as well as by Garcia People, Shred Is Dead and Count Blastula. Among the other acts on the lineup are Knorrwood, Baked Shrimp, Joe Driscoll, Astro Collective and Organ Fairchild.

Skyline Orlando soars over two days at the Orlando Amphitheater at the Central Florida Fairgrounds. Promoters Factory 93 and Day Trip lined up +30 house, techno and other EDM artists to perform across three stages. The lineup features such well-known performers as Green Velvet, Will Clarke, Chris Lake, Honeyluv, DJ Tennis and ZHU.

Expanding to three days for the first time, Sunset Music Festival celebrates its 10-year anniversary with music and more at Raymond James Stadium. The EDM-stacked lineup features such top-line names as Illenium, Alesso, Tchami, Oliver Heldens, ATLiens, Gryffin, PEEKABOO, Liquid Stranger and Zeds Dead, alongside a bevy of other DJs and performers.
