Tool Performs ‘Parabol’ & ‘Parabola’ For 1st Time Since 2020
The back-to-back bust outs were part of the band’s Lollapalooza Chile 2025 set.

Tool brought their tour to South America for a pair of festival appearances this past weekend at Lollapalooza Argentina and Lollapalooza Chile. Fans catching the band at Lolla Chile were able to witness Tool’s first public performances of “Parabol” and “Parabola” since 2020.
Tool’s setlist variance – or lack thereof – stirred controversy at the band’s recent Tool Live In The Sand destination event that promised “two unique” sets but delivered multiple repeats between Tool’s two performances in the Dominican Republic. An attorney floated filing a class-action suit against Tool due to the similarities between setlists.
Tool’s shows last week in Mexico and their set Friday at Lollapalooza Argentina maintained similar formats to other recent setlists delivered by frontman Maynard James Keenan and his bandmates, drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones and bassist Justin Chancellor.
Setlist surprises were in store when the quartet took the stage Saturday in Santiago at Parque Bicentenario de Cerrillos. Near the middle of their Lolla Chile set, Tool broke into “Parabol” and “Parabola,” the paired songs from their 2001 album Lateralus
