Last month, Tinariwen announced their new album, Amadjar, which is due out on September 6 via ANTI-Records. Now, the group has unveiled another new song off the record, “Zawal,” as a follow-up to lead single “Taqkal Tarha.”

Tinariwen’s new single was written by Abdallah Ag Alhousseyni about witnessing the first solar eclipse and features Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds violinist Warren Ellis plus Noura Mint Seymali and Jeiche Ould Chighaly. As described in a statement about the song, “Most people are terrified and believe it is the last judgement, but the narrator remains unconcerned and keeps riding his dromedary across the desert.”
