Tim Heidecker shared a new single, “Like I Do.” The track is set to land on the comedian/actor/singer-songwriter’s forthcoming album, Slipping Away, arriving October 18 via Bloodshot Records.
Slipping Away follows Heidecker’s excellent 2022 album, High School. He captured the new record with The Very Good Band: bassist/vocalist Eliana Athayde, drummer Josh Adams, keyboardist Vic Berger and Connor “Catfish” Gallaher on guitar/pedal steel. Tim’s daughter Amelia also contributed to Slipping Away.

“I guess you could say all my records are concept albums to some degree,” Tim said of his musical output. “There’s a feeling of before the fall and after,” he added of Slipping Away’s two-part arc. “Things are going well… until they’re not. I wanted to write some stories about that experience.”
Heidecker previously released Slipping Away single, “Well's Running Dry” and now follows with “Like I Do.” The punky, Stones-esque rocker captures the rollercoaster ride Heidecker speaks of above. Check out the lyric video for “Like I Do” below:
Tim Heidecker + The Very Good Band and Snail Mail are set to perform at Central Park Summerstage in New York City on August 27. Both groups will then hit the road on the East Coast in support of Waxahatchee. Scroll down for Tim Heidecker’s tour routing and ticket info.
