Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth formed a new side project called Cedar Sparks with Lewis & Clarke’s Lou Rogai. The duo shared the debut single “Gathering Song,” which they describe as “more than a Christmas song.”
“Gathering Song” is said to be “an all inclusive holiday anthem of community and togetherness.” The pair was inspired by the classic 1946 film It’s A Wonderful Life and the plight of protagonist George Bailey. “[The film] remains a pillar of the season which stands the test of time and reminds up to keep perspective,” reads a portion of a statement accompanying the release of “Gathering Song.”

Carbone and Rogai recorded the song last month at Mixolydian Studios with Don Sternacker at the mixing desk in their hometown of Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania. The pair was joined by double bassist Julian Rogai, keyboardist Damian Calcagne, drummer Jeff Berg and vocalist Regina Sayles.
