By Andy Kahn Jul 9, 2015 12:00 pm PDT

Tomorrow night the Horizons Of Rock Developing Everywhere (H.O.R.D.E.) tour will be resurrected for one night at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan. H.O.R.D.E. co-founders Blues Traveler along with 311 and Big Head Todd and The Monsters make up the scarce 2015 edition of the seminal jam band touring festival. The historical significance of the original early 1990s H.O.R.D.E. tours was immense as it related to the growth of the jam band community between 1992 and 1998, and with tomorrow’s one-off event we thought we’d look back at a few memorable moments from H.O.R.D.E. Tours past.

Back in 1995 The Black Crowes welcomed members of Wilco along with Blues Traveler’s John Popper on stage to assist on a cover of Little Feat’s “Willin’.” Watch footage of a shirtless Chris Robinson leading the rousing rendition of the Lowell George classic:

Phish participated in a few stops of the 1993 H.O.R.D.E. Tour along with the likes of Aquarium Rescue Unit, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Blues Traveler, The Samples and Widespread Panic. Watch a clip from July 21, 1993 at Orange County Fairgrounds in Middletown, New York of the band performing “Glide” complete with Trey Anastasio and Mike Gordon playing while sliding on a pair of exercise gliders:

In the clip below shot in Stowe, Vermont on July 31, 1993 The Allman Brothers Band is joined by future member Jimmy Herring along with John Popper on fiery take on “Statesboro Blues” as Dickey Betts was dealing with legal issues:

Beck
joined the 1997 edition of H.O.R.D.E. as one of the tour’s headliners. In the video below he performs his hit “Where It’s At” at The World in Tinley Park, Illinois:

This pro-shot footage features Dave Matthews Band from summer 1996. Watch behind-the-scenes and backstage footage interspersed with DMB’s live performance:

Here’s footage of Blues Traveler playing their smash hit “Run Around” on August 1,1998 at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania:
