Throwback | Medeski, Martin & Wood With Nels Cline | 2014

Last year Medeski Martin & Wood collaborated with Wilco guitarist Nels Cline on an album and accompanying tour. MMW + C delivered sets filled with awe-inspiring improv across Europe between March 27 and April 12, 2014. Recently, professionally-shot video of one of those sets surfaced on YouTube much to the delight of MMW and Nels fans.

The quartet performed at Cully Jazz Festival in Chapiteau, Cully, Switzerland on April 5. European TV station Mezzo was on hand in Cully to film some of the performances and recently premiered its footage of Medeski, Martin & Wood with Nels Cline. The 75 minute set is chock full of adventurous improv as the wizards of weird swing wildly between grooves and spacey segments. Take a look:
