The Travelin’ McCourys shared a new single, “I Like Beer.” The Tom T. Hall cover sees banjo player Rob McCoury singing lead vocals for the first time.

“I Like Beer” originally appears on “The Storyteller” Tom T. Hall’s 1975 LP, I Wrote A Song About. The Travelin’ McCourys version comes on the heels of National Beer Day 2022.

“Banjoist Rob McCoury—Bluegrass’s unofficial #1 beer drinker—appropriately finds himself on lead vocals for the first time in Travelin’ McCourys history,” a press release for the single noted, “and is only briefly side-barred for a barn-burning solo section from the rest of The Travelin’ McCourys’ IBMA award-winning instrumentalists.”
