The String Cheese Incident Unveils ‘The Big Reveal’ Sound Lab Single

Colorado jam band The String Cheese Incident continues to roll out new music recorded at their SCI Sound Lab facility. “The Big Reveal,” the group’s latest single, is led by keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth.

“This was inspired by my early experiences at Grateful Dead shows. [Bassist] Keith [Moseley] and I co-wrote the lyrics together,” Hollingsworth wrote about the song. “It speaks of being young and finding how music can transform and expand your consciousness, allowing you to find your place in a bigger community. For me, some of those early Dead shows were my ‘ah ha’ moment. And to some degree lead me to become a musician.”

Kyle went on to explain the genesis of the new single, “Musically, it’s based on a funky jam that we had improvised at Merriweather Post Pavilion in 2016 called ‘Crab Chips Jam.’ It’s fun to occasionally dive back into the SCI archives and find some unique gems to build songs around!”

“The Big Reveal” is the fourth single issued by The String Cheese Incident this year. In April, the band released “Get To You” featuring The Motet vocalist Lyle Divinsky. Earlier this month, the group unveiled both “Vertigo” and “Otherside.”
