The String Cheese Incident announced official video of their December 9, 2011 concert from the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago will be broadcast as the next installment of the band’s Friday Night Cheese video series. The show from SCI’s Roots Run Deep Tour features several rarely performed songs and will air on the JamBase Livestreams Calendar.
Those rarities include David Grisman’s “Eat My Dust,” played for just the 11th time at the Aragon in 2011 since the Cheese debut in 1998, as per Phantasy Tour. SCI would follow the Dawg nod with a bust out of the Jimmie Skinner-penned “Doin’ My Time” later recorded by bluegrass greats Flatt & Scruggs. Cheese had not played the song since 2007. The band also debuted Chromeo’s “Bonafied Lovin’” which has been performed once since Chicago 2011. “Las Vegas and “Drifting” also count among the rarities. Additionally, SCI kicked off the encore with the Led Zeppelin classic “Kashmir,” making just its fifth Cheese appearance since debuting 10 years prior.
