Long one of the under-sung gems in American blues-rock, Chicago’s The Steepwater Band will release Clava, their best long-player to date on August 16. We’ve been crawling inside the advance they sent JamBase and keep finding new things we really dig with each spin. Nothing’s too gussied up so the honest grit and sweat of rock ‘n’ roll comes through loud and clear, and behind everything a crossroads right blues soul howls. Clava continues the group’s evolution by simply refining every promising aspect this taut trio has exhibited in the past (some earlier praise for TSB here and here for reference). If you’re charged up by what The Black Keys or Black Crowes are putting down lately, there’s little doubt Clava will flip your wig big time. (Dennis Cook)
The album release shows for Clava are August 12 & 13 at Beat Kitchen in Chicago, IL. Clava is available worldwide on August 16 on Diamond Day Records.
Clava Track List:

4. Love Never Ends
5. Bury My Burden Deep
6. High and Humble
7. Won’t Be Long For Now
