Brandi Carlile Offers Solo Piano Performance Of ‘Church & State’ On ‘Colbert’

Brandi Carlile appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Tuesday. The acclaimed singer-songwriter performed and sat down to chat with Stephen.
Last fall, Brandi Carlile released her latest studio album, Returning To Myself. Just ahead of the record’s release, Carlile detailed The Human Tour 2026. The trek made a stop in Minneapolis on February 20 in the aftermath of the federal occupation of the Twin Cities and saw Brandi renaming the concert “Be Human: A Concert For Minneapolis,” which raised $700,000 for families affected by I.C.E.
Last night’s episode of The Late Show saw Carlile and Colbert discussing the concert in Minneapolis among other topics. Brandi also offered a solo piano performance of Returning To Myself cut “Church & State.”
The Late Show also shared a bonus performance of Carlile delivering a cover of Alphaville‘s 1984 hit “Forever Young.” Watch both performances below along with the interview:
