The Killers were in London on Wednesday to perform at the O2 Arena. The concert coincided with England’s match against The Netherlands in the European Championship and The Killers kindly let the fans watch the end of the game.

Roughly halfway through the concert, The Killers paused their performance to put on the soccer match, which was in stoppage time, as substitute striker Ollie Watkins had just hit what would become a game-winning goal. The fans watched England seal the win to head to the final against Spain and The Killers launched into the classic “Mr. Brightside.”

Their breakthrough single, “Mr. Brightside” premiered on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show in 2003. While from Las Vegas, The Killers first found major success in the UK. The band was courted by Warner Bros. Records but failed to secure a deal. They did, however, impress an A&R man from England, Alex Gilbert, who got the band their first ink with English label Lizard King Records.

After the release of “Mr. Brightside” in the UK, The Killers went on a weeklong tour of London. “Mr. Brightside” landed on the band’s 2004 debut album, Hot Fuss. The Killers dipped heavily from the record during their most recent London concert on Wednesday including “Jenny Was a Friend of Mine,” “Smile Like You Mean It,” “Somebody Told Me” and “All These Things That I’ve Done.”

For the encore, The Killers offered tracks from their latest record, Rebel Diamonds, performing “Your Side of Town” and “boy.” The concert came to a close with “A Little Respect” for English synthpop group Erasure, followed by “Human” to seal the show.

The Killers return to O2 Arena tonight. Scroll down for their tour routing and ticket info.
