The Jauntee shared a new single, “Howlin’ Hound,” an homage to canine companions. The track will appear on the Boston-born, Colorado-based quartet’s upcoming album, Anything, set for release on July 14th via Regime Music Group.

The Jauntee announced Anything in May and shared the inclusive single, “Brick By Brick.” Drummer Scott Ferber detailed The Jauntee’s new record:

“I’m proud to say that Anything is The Jauntee’s finest studio effort to date. Recording it ourselves during the pandemic gave us the opportunity to really fine-tune solos and song arrangements. We spent a lot of time on vocal harmonies and instrument overdubs of all sorts. We made a conscious effort to make the songs sound as full as possible using ‘studio magic’ and layering without worrying about how the live arrangements will sound. I think this collection of tunes will stand on their own as unique versions that can be revisited and enjoyed for different reasons than their respective ‘live’ versions.”

The Janutee followed “Brick By Brick” with the single “Ishmael” and now rolled out the country-tinged “Howlin’ Hound.” While the song speaks of the relationship between human and dog, it’s also a clever metaphor for all relationships, as Ferber noted.

“Life happens fast – people change and it can be difficult to maintain relationships, be it with a man, woman or dog,” he said.
