By Scott Bernstein Oct 21, 2019 11:40 am PDT

The Hold Steady recently stopped by the studios of Seattle radio station KEXP to record a session. Craig Finn and company focused on material from their 2019 album Thrasing Thru The Passion ahead of a three-night run at Seattle’s The Crocodile during the KEXP set on August 17.

Host Cheryl Waters introduced the band before they kicked into “Denver Haircut” off their new LP. The Hold Steady then performed “You Did Good Kid” before Finn and Waters discussed the group’s Crocodile run and their focus on residencies. Next, Craig described the making of Thrashing Thru The Passion. The Hold Steady continued on with “Blackout Sam” and then closed out the set with “Entitlement Crew” and “T-Shirt Tux” from Thrashing Thru The Passion.
