The Flaming Lips Announce ‘The Soft Bulletin’ Live Album & Share Single

The Flaming Lips announced their first ever official live album, The Soft Bulletin Recorded Live At Red Rocks With The Colorado Symphony Orchestra, due out on November 29. The band previewed the release by unveiling the single “Race For The Prize.”

The famed psychedelic rockers captured the live record during their May 26, 2016 show at the iconic Colorado venue. For the special occasion, the band — consisting of Wayne Coyne, Steven Drozd, Michael Ivins, Derek Brown, Jake Ingalls, Matt Kirksey and Nicholas Ley — welcomed the Colorado Symphony led by renowned conductor André de Ridder.

Produced by The Flaming Lips, Scoot Booker and longtime Lips collaborator Dave Fridmann, the live record celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Lips’ 1999 groundbreaking breakthrough album, The Soft Bulletin, which included the hit singles “Waitin’ For Superman” and “Race For The Prize.” Listen to “Race For The Prize” live from Red Rocks below:
