One month ago, Bob Dylan released one of rock’s holy grails, the most complete version of The Basement Tapes yet. Dylan recorded over 100 tracks backed by The Band in the Woodstock area back in 1967. Bob has just trotted out a short film documenting the road to The Basement Tapes narrated by The Dude, aka Jeff Bridges.

In the video, Bridges tells the story of The Basement Tapes underneath time-lapse footage of the drive from New York City to The Big Pink in Woodstock while The Basement Tapes recording of “This Wheel’s On Fire” blares out. “It’s as if Jeff Bridges is next to you telling you the story on a road trip, like if you’re with your parents and they’re telling you a story,” Tom Mullen of Legacy Recordings told Mashable.
