The Decemberists Perform On ‘Saturday Sessions’

Each Saturday, CBS This Morning presents a series of musical performances under the Saturday Sessions banner. This morning’s installment featured The Decemberists, who stopped by the show’s Manhattan studio to perform a pair of songs from their most recent album I’ll Be Your Girl.

The folk-rock act was in New York City earlier this week for a makeup show at the Prospect Park Bandshell that saw them perform The Crane Wife in its entirety as a make-good on the show they had to cancel last month. For their appearance on the news magazine show, the band delivered takes on “Sucker’s Prayer” and “Once In My Life” from their eighth studio effort that frontman Colin Meloy has described as an “exuberant nihilism, an apocalyptic dance party.”
