The Chicks Announce Taking The Long Way 20th Anniversary Tour

The Chicks will mark two decades since the release of their landmark album Taking The Long Way with an anniversary tour this fall. The Grammy-winning trio’s theater run launches September 30 in Detroit and weaves through major North American cities before wrapping in early November.

The Chicks open the celebration at Detroit’s Fox Theatre on September 30 ahead of a two-night stand at Chicago’s The Auditorium on October 3 and 4. From there, the band heads to Washington D.C. for a stop at The Anthem on October 6, followed by back-to-back nights at New York’s Beacon Theatre on October 12 and 13.

The middle stretch carries the tour through Nashville’s The Truth on October 15 and into Texas, where The Chicks play two nights at San Antonio’s Majestic Theatre on October 17 and 18 before a stop in Austin on October 20. The West Coast leg includes two nights each in Seattle (October 25 and 26), San Francisco (October 29 and 30) and Hollywood (November 1 and 2), where the tour concludes at the Dolby Theatre.

Released in 2006, Taking The Long Way earned five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Not Ready To Make Nice.”
