The Beatles’ 1970 album Let It Be will see a special edition reissue on October 15 via Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMe. Arrivng in a variety of formats and packages, The Let It Be special edition reissue features never before released session recordings, rehearsals and studio jams, a four-track Let It Be EP and the previously unreleased 1969 Get Back LP mix by Glyn Johns.
Let It Be is the final studio album The Beatles released in 1970. The legendary band recorded the LP and filmed the sessions in early 1969 as they rehearsed material for a new album with the working title, “Get Back,” at Twickenham Film Studios in London. The plan was to then do a live show, their first in three years, which evolved into the iconic rooftop concert. While the Let It Be project was shelved as the band moved on to work on their final recorded album, 1969’s Abbey Road, Let It Be saw the light of day on May 8, 1970 along with an accompanying film. The Beatles had officially disbanded a month prior to the release.

The Let It Be special edition reissue captures the prolific but also sometimes rocky sessions of the era. Along with the aforementioned Let It Be EP and the previously unreleased 1969 Get Back LP mix by Glyn Johns, the newly announced special edition features 27 previously unreleased session recordings along with a newly remixed version of the original album by Giles Martin, the son of the late great Beatles producer Geroge Martin — and engineer Sam Okell. Following the Let It Be special edition release in October, Peter Jackosn's The Beatles: Get Back documentary will arrive in November.
The Let It Be reissue is previewed by three tracks: “Let It Be” (2021 Stereo Mix), “Don’t Let Me Down” (first rooftop performance), and “For You Blue” (Get Back LP Mix). Stream all three below and also check out a trailer for the reissue below:
