One month from today, on February 12, a 50th Anniversary Edition of The Band’s Stage Fright album will be released by Capitol/UMe. The latest preview of the set comes in the form of a previously unreleased alternate mix of “Sleeping.”
The Band originally issued Stage Fright, their third studio album, in 1970. Stage Fright (50th Anniversary Edition) is available in multiple formats. A Super Deluxe box set is comprised of a new stereo mix of the LP by Bob Clearmountain along with bonus tracks and a previously unreleased live performance from 1970 on Blu-Ray as well as CDs of the same material, 180-gram vinyl featuring the main album with the new stereo mix and more goodies complete with a photo booklet and liner notes penned by Robbie Robertson.

Additional vinyl and CD editions are also up for sale with a digital release coming as well. Robbie Robertson oversaw the process with Stage Fright sequenced as initially planned for the first time.
Stage Fright track “Sleeping” was penned by Robertson and Richard Manuel. The new alternate mix is a more stripped-down rendition of the song focusing on Manuel’s heartfelt vocal delivery.
