On April 23 Widespread Panic brings Spring Tour to the BJCC Arena in Birmingham, Alabama for a concert that will also feature the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Panic and the TTB are no strangers to each other as members of each group have sat-in with each other on numerous occasions. The two bands also teamed up for a show at Chicago’s Northerly Island on June 20, 2014.
On that June night in 2014, both Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi sat-in with Widespread Panic for a three-song run which ended the Georgia rockers’ lone set. Derek and Susan added to Panic’s renditions of “The Dark End Of The Street,” “I’ve Been Working” and “Stop Breaking Down.” Widespread Panic shared professionally-shot video of “The Dark End Of The Street,” a 1967 soul classic first recorded by James Carr, in the weeks after the Chicago show. The video shows the ensemble rehearsing the tune and performing it on stage. Watch this preview of what may go down in Birmingham:
