Guitarist Marcus King was Tedeschi Trucks‘ special guest during their latest Fireside Live concert at Hop Springs Beer Park in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Sunday night. King sat-in on covers of The Allman Brothers Band’s “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed” and Elmore James’ “The Sky Is Crying” to bring the evening’s second set to a close.

The Tedeschi Trucks lineup for Sunday featured Tedeschi Trucks Band members guitarists Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, keyboardist Gabe Dixon, drummer Tyler Greenwell, bassist Brandon Boone and vocalist Mike Mattison. A take on Dan Penn’s “Sweet Inspiration” got the evening underway ahead of TTB originals “Do I Look Worried” and “High & Mighty.”

Tedeschi, Trucks and members of their band then covered the Derek & The Dominos classic “Keep On Growing.” Next up was “Looking For Answers,” a song penned by Susan that Tedeschi Trucks recently added to their repertoire. “Shame” followed before the group ended the opening frame by pairing Willie Nelson’s “Somebody Pick Up My Pieces” and Charles Segar’s “Key To The Highway.”

Sunday’s second set began with original “Laugh About It.” Then, Tedeschi Trucks played Susan’s “Just Won’t Burn.” From there, the group dug in on Paul Pena’s “Gotta Move” and Sleepy John Estes’ “Leaving Trunk.” Up next was beloved original “Let Me Get By” and a medley combining John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery” with the Grateful Dead’s “Sugaree.” Tedeschi then welcomed current Tennessee resident Marcus King. Marcus and Derek went toe-to-toe on an “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed” that spanned nearly 20 minutes. Tedeschi and King shared vocals on “The Sky Is Crying” to cap the frame. The band went without guests in ending the night with a “Made Up Mind” encore.
