ROLLING STONES WELCOME OLD FRIEND
FOR DEBUT COVER IN CHICAGO

The Rolling Stones’ continue to fill their 50 and Counting Tour with guest spots from the likes of John Mayer, Gwen Stefani, Dave Grohl, Carrie Underwood and Tom Waits. Last night’s special guest at the United Center in Chicago was old friend Taj Mahal, whose relationship with the band dates back to his appearance on their Rock And Roll Circus concert film in 1968. Taj has since sat in with the band a few times, including for a riveting performance of “Corrina” in 1997.

Taj Mahal emerged eight songs into The Rolling Stones’ set for a debut cover of Dave Dudley’s “Six Days On The Road.” The Stones also worked “Rocks Off” into their set for only the second time this tour.

Other guests included former Stones guitarist Mick Taylor on “Midnight Rambler” and “(I Can’t Go No) Satisfaction” as well as the Roosevelt University Chamber Singers, who helped out on “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

UPDATE:The Rolling Stones have uploaded pro-shot footage of Taj Mahal’s guest spot on “Six Days On The Road.”
