Dark Star Orchestra, Daniel Donato & The Weight Band To Unite At Wonderland Forest For Summer Jam 50

The music of the Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band and The Band will be honored on the 50th anniversary of a legendary concert.

Summer Jam 50 will commemorate the 50th anniversary of The Allman Brothers Band, The Grateful Dead and The Band performing in front of hundreds of thousands of music fans at the Watkins Glen race track in 1973. Dark Star Orchestra, Daniel Donato‘s Cosmic Country and The Weight Band will take part in Summer Jam 50 on Friday, July 28 and Saturday, July 29 as the inaugural event at Lafayette, New York’s Wonderland Forest.

Each of the participating bands will perform tributes on both nights to the acts that played the original Summer Jam. Dark Star Orchestra will celebrate the music of the Grateful Dead with their Saturday concert devoted to a full recreation of the Dead’s July 28, 1973 Watkins Glen setlist. Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country will be joined by keyboardist Peter Levin and friends to honor The Allman Brothers Band, while The Weight Band celebrates the music of The Band.

The Original Summer Jam

Wonderland Forest is a new nature-focused, 500-acre venue situated 15 minutes south of Syracuse. Music will start on Friday, July 28 at 4 p.m. ET and continues throughout the evening. Then, the music begins again on Saturday, July 29 at 1 p.m. ET. Camping is available at Wonderland Forest.
